The Indian Institute of Management (Indore) took a unique initiative by introducing a 5-year Integrated Programme in Management in 2011. The IIM, Indore designed the integrated programme in management keeping in mind the requirements of the corporate world. The program inducts students after they have passed class 12th or higher secondary education from India and few internationally recognized boards of secondary education.

The 5-year Integrated Program in Management aims to provide a holistic education which will enable the students to develop their managerial skills and in the process mould them in leadership roles. After IIM Indore, IIM Rohtak also introduced the Integrated Programme in Mangement in their curriculum.

IIM IPM Course Structure:-

The 5-Year Integrated Programme in Management is split into two programs with 3 years of an undergraduate program and 2 years of postgraduate program. The first three years of the program aims to build a strong foundation and the next two years focuses on providing quality management education.

The IIM IPM students have to study a comprehensive course with a total of 15 terms, and in each year there are three terms having duration of 3 months each. 

What is the IIM IPM Indore eligibility criteria?

IIM IPM Indore aspirants who fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria can apply for the 5-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) from the IIM Indore:-

  1. The aspirants should have scored a minimum of 60% in 10th and 12th standard examination. It is a mandate for General and NC-OBC category students
  2. The aspirants should have scored a minimum of 55% in 10th and 12th standard examination. It is a mandate for students belonging to SC, ST and PWD (DA) Category
  3. The maximum age limit for General and NC-OBC Category is 20 years as on July 31 of the year of the examination.  
  4. The maximum age limit for IIM IPM for SC, ST and PWD (DA) category is 22 years as on July 31 of the year of the examination.
  5. Aspirants who have appeared for 12th standard examination and are likely to complete 12th or equivalent by the end of June 30 of the exam year can also apply for IIM IPM. 
  6. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in 10th and 12th will be calculated on the bases of the aggregate marks of all subjects that are shown in the mark sheet/grade sheet, irrespective of the Board’s regulation.
  7. In case the IPM appearing aspirants are awarded letter grades or grade points instead of marks, the conversion of grades to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the board or the competent authority.
  8. IPM applicants pursuing their 12th standard from international schools affiliated to foreign boards such as IGCSE and IB are also eligible to apply.
  9. IIM Indore reserves the rights for deciding the eligibility conditions in terms of equivalence, percentage marks, and the recognition of the qualifying examination, or the intake of students etc.

What is the selection procedure for IIM IPM Indore?

The IIM IPM aspirants are selected on the basis of their overall performance in entrance exam which is the Aptitude Test (AT), after qualifying the AT the students appear for the Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). Any aspirant who fails to appear either in the AT, and WAT and PI or both will not be considered for the selection to the IPM. The steps for the selection process to the IIM IPM are as follows:

Stage 1: The candidates fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria will have to submit their application for the IIM IPM

Stage 2: Based on the IPM applications received, the candidates fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria are called for the Aptitude Test (AT) which is to be conducted across the various cities in the country.

The pattern of IIM IPM Indore Aptitude Test will be:-

  1. There will be three sections in the aptitude test which are Quantitative Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ), Quantitative Ability (Short Answer Question-SA) and Verbal Ability (Multiple Choice Question-MCQ).
  2. Each question carries 4 marks.
  3. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each incorrect answer except Quantitative Ability (SA) Section (There is no negative marking for short answers).

  1. The IIM IPM Indore aspirants should attempt the IPM questions in a pre-specified order and the same order for attempting the IPM question paper will be have to be followed by the other aspirants as well.

Stage 3: On the bases of the raw scores in the IPM entrance/aptitude test, the qualifying students are selected and called for Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). The minimum cut-off marks in the each section of IPM are decided by the admission committee and the minimum cut-off is based on the categories that the students have applied for.

Stage 4: On the bases of the merit list generated as per scores of the entrance aptitude test of the IPM, good number of students are called for the WAT and PI for the various categories (General, NC-OBC, SC, ST and PWD/DA). Below mentioned is the table displaying the derivation of the scores for determining the students to be called for the PI and WAT.

Please note: The maximum and minimum scores in each section of the IPM entrance are the highest and lowest scores obtained in the respective sections by the applicants from their eligible category pool.

A category wise merit list is generated for the final selection of the students for admission to IIM IPM on the basis of the composite scores which are given in the table below.

IIM IPM reservation of the seats:-

As per the government of India reservation rights and policies, the percentages of seats reserved for the admission of aspirants in each category are:-

1.  27% of the seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the “Non-Creamy” layer (NC-OBC),

2.  15% seats are reserved for the Scheduled Caste (SC),

3.  7.5% seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribe (ST)

4.  4% seats are reserved for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs)

5.  5% seats are reserved for the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD).
