What is NMAT 2018 Exam?

NMAT 2018 is an entrance test conducted by GMAC™. The NMAT by GMAC™ 2018 score is not only accepted by NMIMS (Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Indore Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Shirpur) for admission but other leading management colleges across India as well.

The NMAT Exam by GMAC Score is acknowledged and accepted by the following MBA Institutes.

  • Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad
  • Xavier University, Bhubaneswar
  • GITAM School of International Business, Vizag

NMAT by GMAC Exam 2018 Information/ Guidelines/ Instructions

  • NMAT 2018 Notification is out.
  • NMAT 2018 Registration Dates are from July 03, 2018 to October 03, 2018.
  • NMAT 2018 Exam dates are from October 04, 2018 to December 17, 2018.
  • NMAT 2018 Results will be out in 2nd week of January 2019.

The dates for NMAT Exam have been announced. The registration for NMAT Exam will open from July 03, 2018 for admissions in its School of Business Management for academic session 2019-21 and the students, after their formal registrations in NMAT 2018, is an online test opened in a window period from October 04 to December 17, 2018 , candidate can take two more retakes after first attempt.

Instructions/ Guidelines for Candidates taking NMAT 2018 Exam

  • Candidates are required to produce original copies of non-expired identifications which have with recognizable photograph and signature.
  • Candidates will have to show the confirmation e-mail printout, photocopy of the primary ID and the print out of admit card.
  • Any member accompanying the candidate will not be allowed into the premises where exam will be conducted.
  • Invigilators have the right to exclude candidates who fail to follow the rules and procedures
  • Candidates, who have successfully pre-registered and have printouts for confirmation mail, admit card along with an original valid ID will be allowed to write the NMAT by GMAC™. Those who fail to produce any of these will be barred from the exam.

    NMAT by GMAC 2018 Eligibility

    There’s no definite eligibility criteria for NMAT by GMAC. “It is the responsibility of the test taker to understand the eligibility requirements of all the universities and schools to which he/she is interested in applying before registering for NMATby GMAC,” states the official.

    NMAT by GMAC Syllabus 2018

    NMAT by GMAC 2018 paper will consist of three sections. NMAT by GMAC syllabus consists of following subjects: Verbal Ability, Data Analysis & Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning.  One needs to be thoroughly prepared with logical and analytic reasoning, verbal ability, data interpretation, quant and mathematics.

  • A few guidelines on eligibility for students has been listed at the official website of NMIMS. It is recommended that aspirants should look for detailed eligibility criteria of the particular university and school of their choice before applying for admission to MBA or other management degree programmes.

    However, a few general eligibility criteria needs to be followed by every student before filling up the application form: 

  • It is compulsory for every student to have a bachelor’s degree (10+2+3/4) in any discipline from any recognised university.
  • Candidates must have atleast 50% score in aggregate in their graduation.
  • Candidates with work experience of two or more years after graduation will be favored for admission to all full-time programmes (according to Admission Information Handout of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).
  • Students in their final year of bachelors can also apply for the exam where they shall be offered provisional admission. The final admission will be granted only on clearing graduation exams in first attempt with atleast 50% of marks. The applicant should be able to submit all original documents within the stipulated time period.
  • NMAT by GMAC’s official website has clearly informed in its eligibility section, “All test takers who complete the Test Registration process pay the test fee within the time specified and follow the published NMATby GMAC terms and conditions may sit for the NMAT exam. It is the responsibility of the test taker to understand the eligibility requirements of all the universities and schools to which he/she is interested in applying before registering for NMATby GMAC. If the test taker registers for the test and then determine that he/she is ineligible for admission to the desired program, no test fee refund will be made. For the eligibility requirements, test takers are advised to check the websites of each university and school where they plan to apply”.

    NMAT by GMAC Pattern 2018

    NMAT by GMAC 2018 test pattern has not yet been declared by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). However, no new changes are expected to be introduced in the exam pattern this year. NMAT by GMAC will continue to be a 120 minute (two hour) exam with three sections: three sections – Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning.

    Candidates can take NMAT by GMAC up to a total of three times. The best of the three scores will be used for admission. The test comprises of the following sections:

    According to the official notification, “The NMAT by GMAC is computer-delivered and gives each candidate a randomly generated test from a pool of questions, delivered one-at-a-time. The number of questions, difficulty levels, and the time limit for each of the sections is predetermined and, under normal administration conditions, are the same regardless of when and where the test is administered. Candidates have a choice of selecting the order/sequence of the test sections.”

    Also, NMAT by GMAC test-takers need to review their answers before moving to another section of the exam. Once the candidate ends a particular section, all answers are considered final.

    Candidates can choose a date, time and location of exam according to their convenience.

    Here are few important details about NMAT by GMAC:

  • Three Attempts: Candidates can take the test three times in an admission cycle – one exam and two retakes.
  • Choosing the section order: Candidates can choose the order of sections in the test. For instance, one can opt to attempt QA section first followed VA and LR.
  • To help create a preparation strategy, here are some tips:

  • Ask yourself questions like what subject to prepare at what time, how much time to devote to it, when to start revision and so on.
  • If you are confident about any topic or subject, then do not waste your time practicing odd questions. Try to work upon their shortcuts and mock tests.
