Inaugurated by Smt. Indira Gandhi (the then Minister for Information and Broadcasting) in 1965, Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Delhi is an autonomous institution. It is supported by Ministry of Information & Broadcasting of the Government of India and has developed various regional centres situated in Dhenkanal, Kottayam, Aizwal, Amravati, and Jammu.                             

The Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi offers a Diploma Course in Development Journalism to mid-career journalists from Non-aligned and Developing Countries. Students can also enrol in several post-graduate diploma programmes that are offered across six specialisations, including Radio and TV Journalism, Urdu Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations, Hindi Journalism, Odia Journalism and English Journalism. The institute also extends training for the Indian Information Service, as a noteworthy feature.

IIMC New Delhi Highlights

 

IIMC New Delhi Admission Process

 

For IIMC New Delhi Admission Process 2020, candidates can apply through both online as well as offline mode. To apply for admissions online, students need to follow the below given steps:

  • Visit the official website www.iimc.nic.in and download the application form
  • Fill the application form by entering correct details such as name, correspondence address and academic details
  • Upload the scanned copies of necessary documents such as passport size photograph, signature, as required
  • Pay a registration fee of Rs 1,200 via credit/ debit card or net banking

Candidates need to submit the separate application forms for all the courses but for Journalism (Hindi) or Journalism (English), there is a single form available on the website. 

To apply for admissions offline, candidates need to follow the below given process:

  • Candidates need to download the application form from www.iimc.gov.in
  • Fill the application form with correct details using black ink pen and paste a recent passport size photograph on it
  • Pay an application fee of Rs 1,200 in the form of a DD drawn in favour of ‘IIMC, New Delhi’
  • Send it to IIMC, New Delhi address with his/her name on the back side of the demand draft

NRI category candidates must also send a DD worth US$ 50 in favour of IIMC, New Delhi as a group discussion and interview fee along with the application form. Candidates have to clear All India Entrance Examination followed by group discussions and interviews for admissions in all the courses.
